Change of legal name

Do not use the Change Legal Name process if the name change is a result of a new business or entity with a different Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) being formed. You must Register a New Account and receive a new Employer Account Number for the new entity.

To change the legal name of your business:

1. Log in to your account at www.uimn.org
2. On My Home Page, click Account Maintenance.
3. Click Change Legal Name.
4. Enter the Filing Number, and then click Next.
5. Enter the new legal name and effective date, and then click Save. The Confirmation of Legal Name Change page will open.
